Private teachers vs larger studios for consideration:
There are some different advantages (access to multiple instrument lessons for example) to taking lessons from a large studio but music teachers are worth and deserve receiving the full fees for their hard work, their knowledge, experience, skills and talents. Good teachers are not always easily found. Larger studios' fees are $10-15 higher per month than some private teachers' studios but you're not paying the teacher those fees, over half is going to the studio. Private teachers who charge higher fees are those who have higher level credentials (such as a Teacher's Associate Diploma). Students in private studios have the same advantage of access to music festivals and recitals as in bigger studio operations.
Lessons in my studio vs your home: benefit in your home - not driving your kids to yet another activity; benefit in my studio – no distractions of family home activity (unless your piano is a quiet place away from distractions), access to additional materials for use during lessons that I can’t haul along with me.
